Our business is one that’s familiar with the finer details of surfacing and groundwork. SO Groundworks may have only been around since 2015, however our people have 17 years of experience in the trade. In addition, they are NRSWA and CSCS registered. This makes them the perfect ones to talk to if you’re after a resin bound contractor.

There are some surfaces that you cannot directly lay resin bound permeable paving onto. Examples include brick and block paving, and flags. The reason for this is that they aren’t solid sub bases. If there’s any settlement or movement in the base, the permeable paving shall start cracking. Fortunately, you can lay your resin bound aggregates on several other surfaces.

Tarmac

This is one of the two most fitting sub bases for resin bound materials. You can lay them onto a newly installed tarmac surface or a current one. The former requires you wait a short while. You’ll need to lay the tarmac on a suitable sub base with ample depth. This way, you can support the predicted weight of use.

Concrete

The other suitable sub base is concrete. Before laying you must clean the existing material meticulously. In addition, it’s vital to use a polymer primer before you install the permeable paving. If you neglect to do this, your two surfaces shall fail to adhere. Moreover, you’ll waste your resin drive materials. The only way to make things right at this stage would be to restart the entire project.

If you’ve recently set the concrete, you’ll need to wait at least seven days and then introduce the final layer. This gives enough time for the concrete to cure and gain strength.

At SO Groundworks, we prefer to adopt a personal approach that’s also friendly. Our people offer advice when the client needs it. Furthermore, they see to it that the customer is happy with the results. In all we are one of the most reliable people to work with if you want a resin bound contractor.
